2012 New England Touring Ts (five couples from four states) making a tour of the New England area in the fall of the year.  The trip covers seven (7) States and a quick trip into to Canada for an evening. 

We are visiting the New England States in September and October of 2012 with our "Half the Speed, Twice the Fun" touring group.  Scroll down to see a summary of our plans.

Highlights include:

  • The Maine coast with visits to many lighthouses and lots of good seafood

  • The White (NH), Green (VT), and Berkshires (MA) Mountains for the fall foliage

  • The South Coast in Connecticut and Rhode Island

  • Martha's Vineyard, Hyannis and Cape Cod

  • Plymouth, Lexington, Concord and Boston for a step back in our history
     

Brief Overview of the Trip Plans

We are meeting in East St. Louis and traveling north with our Model Ts on trailers for our three week (25 day) adventure in the Northeast or New England area.  The modern trucks and trailers will be parked near Bangor, ME and we will spend the remainder of the tour in our Ts.

The first part of the tour we will spend time traveling the Maine interior into Canada and then along the Maine coast spending time enjoying the scenery and the many lighthouses along the coast.  Before leaving the Maine coast we will spend two days at Bar Harbor and a day trip to Harpswell for a final lunch along the coast.

Traveling inland, we will begin to enjoy the fall foliage and the New England country side.  A few highlight are:

  • Mount Washington, NH

  • White Mountains, NH ~ Franconia Notch State Park (see overview map below)

  • Kancamagus Highway

  • Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site

  • Adirondack Park and Fort Ticonderoga in New York

  • Green Mountains in Vermont (Vermont Country Store)

  • Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts and the Mohawk Trail

  • Stockbridge, MA and Norman Rockwell Museum

  • Country drive in Connecticut including the Litchfield Hills area

  • Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT

  • Touring Newport, RI including "The Breakers"

  • Sea coast ride and ferry to Martha's Vineyard plus a day touring Martha's Vineyard

  • Hyannis, the Kennedy Compound and Cape Cod

  • Plymouth and Pilgrim Memorial State Park

  • Concord and Lexington

  • Boston
